ना सबूत है ना दलील है।
This is a ghazal in the true Sufi tradition where God is the lover, benefactor, friend and is a part of the singer and writer. Sufism is mysticism. Sufis have been known for their asceticism, especially their attachment to practice of remembering God. Its authorship has been lost in antiquity but the message is loud and clear. With repeated hearings it has a way of growing and really growing on one. This ghazal has been adopted by the foundation ‘ Art of Living’ and has become almost like their mascot. The words are generally simple but the effect is profound!
Sachin Limaye has sung this ghazal with lot of passion and his version has been adopted by the foundation ‘ Art of Living’ . He is a well known singer from Gujrat. He is a household name in Baroda where he performs on stage shows, along with his wife Ashita Limaye.

Your blessings , graces are bountiful, unlimited!
Only my precautions, preparations are not adequate!!
ना सुबूत है ना दलील है
मुझे कौन तुझसे अलग करे ?
मै अटूट प्यास तू झील है ।
Who can separate me from you?
I am unquenched thirst and you are like a lake full of nectar!
ना सुबूत है ना दलील है
तेरा नाम इतना है मुख्तसर !
तेरा जिक्र कितना तबील है?
Your name is so short!
Still your mention is so elaborate, wide spread, all encompassing!!
ना सुबूत है ना दलील है
हूँ तेरे फैसले से मुतमईन।
ना कोई मुतलबा ना अपील है।
I am fully satisfied with your decision.
There is no regret or complaint or demand and there is no need for an appeal.
This soulful Sufi ghazal is sung by Shri Vivek Verma, so delicately and with such feeling, it brings out the spirit of the ghazal. Vivek Verma (Born 10.09.1992) is a singer, song writer and music director. He has worked in Indian film industry, in films like ABCD 2, Sanam Bewafa etc. He had joined Himesh Reshammiya as a guitarist and worked in the film ‘Prem ratan Dhan Payo’.
Dr Shantanu Sharma is a younger Indian singer who has sung this ghazal in a different way, that has a freshness of its own.
