POST40: E Jazba E Dil Gar Mein
ऐ जज़्बा-ए-दिल गर मैं चाहूँ हर चीज़ मुक़ाबिल आ जाए
Behzad Lakknawi, a Pakistani poet is the one who wrote this ghazal. Born in Lucknow and named Sardar Hasan Khan started singing in mushairas at an early age of twelve. He was born in 1900 and migrated to Pakistan after partition. He died in 1974.He was active in the film industry on both sides of the border. He was more famous for singing NAATS - poetry in praise of Allah.

ऐ जज़्बा-ए-दिल गर मैं चाहूँ हर चीज़ मुक़ाबिल आ जाए
मंज़िल के लिए दो गाम चलूँ और सामने मंज़िल आ जाए
Oh passion of my heart, if I so desire, everything would come face to face,
Even as I take two steps towards my destination, the destination would come before me!
ऐ दिल की लगी चल यूँही सही चलता तो हूँ उन की महफ़िल में
उस वक़्त मुझे चौंका देना जब रंग पे महफ़िल आ जाए
Oh compulsions of my heart, let me agree to go to her assembly;
But please give me a jolt to make me come out of the stupor, when the assembly is at its climax
ऐ रहबर-ए-कामिल चलने को तय्यार तो हूँ पर याद रहे
उस वक़्त मुझे भटका देना जब सामने मंज़िल आ जाए
Oh the guide who shows the right path, I am agreeable to go along with you,
But disorient me when the destination is before me! I do not wish to reach my destination!!
हाँ याद मुझे तुम कर लेना आवाज़ मुझे तुम दे लेना
इस राह-ए-मोहब्बत में कोई दरपेश जो मुश्किल आ जाए
Please please remember me , hail me, call me,
When a problem confronts you on the path of love.
अब क्यूँ ढूँडूँ वो चश्म-ए-करम होने दे सितम बाला-ए-सितम
मैं चाहता हूँ ऐ जज़्बा-ए-ग़म मुश्किल पस-ए-मुश्किल आ जाए
Why should I yearn for a loving glance, let there be torture heaped on torture!
I wish the passion of sorrow to befall me in one difficulty after another!
इस जज़्बा-ए-दिल के बारे में इक मशवरा तुम से लेता हूँ
उस वक़्त मुझे क्या लाज़िम है जब तुझ पे मिरा दिल आ जाए

ऐ बर्क़-ए-तजल्ली कौंध ज़रा क्या मुझ को भी मूसा समझा है
मैं तूर नहीं जो जल जाऊँ जो चाहे मुक़ाबिल आ जाए
Oh the flash of lightening, please strike! Do you assume that I am Moses?
I will not get burnt, like the hill Toor, whatever may confront me!
कश्ती को ख़ुदा पर छोड़ भी दे कश्ती का ख़ुदा ख़ुद हाफ़िज़ है
मुश्किल तो नहीं इन मौजों में बहता हुआ साहिल आ जाए
Leave your boat( symbolic of life) on the mercy of the God, He is the Saviour!
It is quite possible that the shore of its own, would come to me floating with the waves!!

She is married to L. Subramaniam. She has been conferred Padma Shri and various awards like Filmfare award for best female singer. Some of her better known songs include Bole Chudiyan, Tu cheez badi hai mast mast,Sajanji ghar ayae etc.
Shafullah Khan was a Pakistani folk singer ,songwriter and music producer. He was a well known ghazal singer. Born in 1966, he died in 2020. He sang this ghazal in his own style. Enjoy this variation in the singing.
Nayyara Noor, again is a Pakistani ghazal singer of the yester years. she was born in 1950. This is an attempt to present as many variations as possible to give you all an idea of the width of the spectrum!
